HANDEL’S MESSIAH DECEMBER 21, 2019

The Kincardine Summer Music Festival is delighted to to announce that Orchestra Grey Bruce and the Saugeen County Chorus will present their 21st performance of Handel’s Messiah December 21, 8:00 pm at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 345 Durham St., Kincardine.

Soloists will be Kincardine’s own Nicole Reid, soprano; Nicole Percifield, alto; Matt Chittick, tenor; Aaron Dimoff, bass.  For details about these wonderful singers, please click here.

Orchestra Grey Bruce is made up of musicians from Bruce, Grey and Huron counties plus soloists from across Ontario and Quebec.  For the concert December 21 the Orchestra will include soloists Paul Earle and Reanne Kruisselbrink, violins, Jasmine Schnarr, viola, Thomas Beard, cello and James Gannett, bass, as well as 25 orchestra members.

The Saugeen County Chorus is a collection of 50 talented vocalists, mostly from the Kincardine area, but others from Southampton, Port Elgin, Paisley, Clifford, Inverhuron, Lucknow and Goderich.  Many of the chorus members also sing with other choirs in the area.

The Orchestra and Chorus have collaborated over the years to produce consistently top-quality concerts including large choral works such as Haydn’s The Seasons and The Creation, and recently at the Kincardine Summer Music Festival choruses from Mendelssohn’s Elijah plus Vivaldi’s Gloria.

It’s inspiring to realize this group has achieved 21 consecutive years of Handel’s Messiah performances!

None of this would have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of volunteers, friends and family.

Plan now to attend this Christmas season highlight, guaranteed to lift your spirits!
