For the 2019 performance Conductor Robert Tite led a large and talented ensemble featuring soloists Nicole Reid, soprano; Nicole Percifield, alto; Matt Chittick, tenor; Aaron Dimoff, bass; Aaron Hodgson, trumpet; and Diane Eaton, harpsichord and organ.

Orchestra Grey Bruce is made up of musicians from Bruce, Grey and Huron counties plus soloists from across Ontario and Quebec.  For this concert in December 2019 the Orchestra included principals Paul Earl and Reanne Kruisselbrink, violins; Jasmine Schnarr, viola; Thomas Beard, cello; and James Gannett, bass, as well as 21 orchestra members.

The Saugeen County Chorus is a collection of 50 talented vocalists, mostly from the Kincardine area, but also from Southampton, Port Elgin, Paisley, Clifford, Inverhuron, Lucknow and Goderich.

Many of the chorus members also sing with other choirs in the area including:
A Capella and Chantry Singers from Port Elgin; The Paisley Concert Choir from Paisley; and the Kincardine Community Singers and Celebration Singers from Kincardine.

The Orchestra and Chorus have collaborated over the years to produce top-quality concerts including large choral works such as Haydn’s The Seasons and The Creation.

It’s inspiring to realize this group has achieved 21 consecutive years of Handel’s Messiah performances!

This year, due to Covid, it is impossible to rehearse and perform this concert live and in person.  Fortunately a recording had been made of the performance in 2019, and so it became possible to create a video of that performance and use the Kincardine Summer Music Festival YouTube channel as a platform for this Encore presentation.

Thanks to Rick French and Nick Reid for their work on this recording!

So, on Christmas Eve, please join us once again for this season highlight, guaranteed to lift your spirits.

The perfect way to enjoy a special evening!
